Martin Freeman stars in this five-part BBC crime drama set in Liverpool. The show follows troubled police officer Chris Carson (Freeman) as he begins a series of challenging night shifts. Following a recent demotion, Chris is tasked with mentoring rookie Rachel Hargreaves (Adelayo Adedayo) before an encounter with drug addict Casey (Emily Fairn) threatens his career.
